May 30, 2024, will be etched in our memories as a day of passion, unity, and celebration. It was at Omaha Beach, a place full of history and remembrance, that the Olympic flame was carried by 24 riders in a unique and symbolic relay, marking the 20th stage of the flame’s journey towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
A day to remember
From the first light of day, the excitement was palpable at the Monument to the Braves, the starting point of the relay. Franck Le Mestre, director of the Longines Deauville International Horse Center, and Norman Ouakil, star rider of the Okoo series "Au Galop," had the honor of being part of the relay, equipped with our Aurak Gibson helmets.
An Emotional Cavalcade
The first stage brought together 24 riders selected by the French Equestrian Federation, guided by their Captain, Olympic champion Pénélope Leprevost. The cavalcade at a walk extended over 1.5 km before 4 riders set off at a gallop to reach the American cemetery: the captain, followed by Nicolas Canteloup, Samuel Catel, and Franck Le Mestre.
An Unforgettable Experience
For Aurak Protection, participating in such an event is a true consecration. Seeing our helmets accompany renowned riders on such a beautiful adventure reinforces our commitment to excellence and innovation. The testimonials from the riders equipped by Aurak deeply moved us.
